Statement of Diversity & Inclusivity
The Staten Island Athletic Club (SIAC) reaffirms its commitment to ensuring a welcoming, safe and respectful environment for all its members. We respect the age, race, religion, ethnic background, gender and sexual orientation of our fellow members. We strive to embrace an ever-expanding diversity within the club, welcoming new members from all backgrounds and running skill levels.
In light of recent events, SIAC wants to acknowledge the safety concerns of our members who are black, indigenous and people of color. Considering this, if you feel unsafe or have experienced any racial profiling as a runner, the Board and Captains are here to listen to you and provide support.
We always invite feedback on any and all topics from our members to guide the club to be a better, more socially aware organization. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, and ideas to info@statenislandac.org.
